Four Militants have been killed in the ongoing encounter that had erupted between Militants and Government Forces in the Nai Basti, Kharpora area of Arwani in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) District.
Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 1 RR of Indian Army, SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF had jointly launched the Anti Militancy operation in the area.
During the CASO, Forces were fired upon by Militants which triggered an encounter, in the ensuing gunfight four Militants have been reportedly killed.
Initially three to four Militants from South Kashmir were believed to be trapped in the residential house of Mohammed Ismail in the Nai Basti area, Local sources told The Kashmiriyat.
Meanwhile massive clashes have erupted in the area as hundreds of locals have poured onto the streets shouting pro independence slogans trying to march towards the gunfight site.
As per the latest reports, the firing has stopped and search operations have begun.
