
Congregation prayers were disallowed in all major Masjids across the Kashmir valley on Friday.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that heavy deployments have been made across the Jamia Masjids of the valley in major townships of Kashmir to not allow any mass gatherings.
In Srinagar, Friday prayers were disallowed in all the major Sufi Khanqahs and in Jamia Masjid of Srinagar. Paramilitary forces sealed all the entry and exit points of the main mosques in Srinagar.
In Anantnag, the gates of Jamia Masjid were locked down for the second consecutive Friday. Prayers were disallowed in the mosque to prevent any law and order situation, an official told The Kashmiriyat.

Similarly, Friday prayers were disallowed in all major mosques of the valley amid strict restrictions that have been imposed in the aftermath of the death of Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
Geelani, the senior most Hurriyat leader passed away on Wednesday, immediately after which communication was snapped across the valley.
