Friend of Custodial Killing Victim, Rizwan Joins Militancy

Shahid Manzoor son of Manzoor Ahmed who is a resident of New Colony in Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District has joined Militancy in Kashmir against the custodial killing of his friend, Rizwan Ahmed Pandit.

Releasing an audio on Social Media, Shahid has announced that he has joined Militant outfit Hizb ul Mujahideen,he has alleged that he had been picked up alongside Rizwan Ahmed by Government Forces the last year. “We were tortured mentally and physically inside the jail,” he is heard saying in this audio.

As soon as i heard that my friend had been killed inside the custody, i decided to join the queues of Militancy, he is heard saying, adding, “The probes and investigations are a mere eyewash, nothing has been achieved in Kunan Poshpora and Shopian Double Rape case probes yet,”

Though Militancy is growing swiftly as more local youth are picking up arms to strengthen the Militant ranks, Figures available to The Kashmiriyat suggest that at least 190 Local youth have picked up arms the last year.

Locals from Awantipora told The Kashmiriyat that Yawar had left home the last week after which he disappeared.

The family looked for him everywhere and today his photo appeared on the social networking with him announcing his entry into the militant outfit Hizb ul Mujahideen.

An official said that they are confirming the authenticity of the photograph.

South Kashmir districts have witnessed a surge in youth joining the Militant ranks after the encounter of Burhan Wani on July 08, 2016.

Despite the Indian Army having launched ‘Operation All Out’ and intensifying the Anti Militancy operations, the local Militancy is on rise.

Militancy this year has seen a huge rise after the three encounter that were held on a single day on April 01 in South Kashmir ending with the death of 13 local Militants.

The Himalayan region has seen large number of youth picking up arms since an armed insurgency began against the Indian rule in 1988.

Since their partition both India and Pakistan have fought three wars claiming the region in its entirety.
