The body of one of the two young boys who drowned while bathing in river Sindh in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday was retrieved on Monday morning.
Earlier, The Kashmiriyat reported that two boys identified as Zahid Farooq Rather and Rashid Khan, both residents of Palpora Noorbagh area in Srinagar district, drowned in the water body near Kijpora Kangan.
As soon as the incident happened, the Locals along with Police, as well SDRF team reached the spot and launched a massive rescue operation.
The Rescue operation however had to be suspended last night, due to darkness; the operation was however resumed early morning on Monday, a Police official told The Kashmiriyat.
“During the rescue operation, the body of one of the drowned boy Zahid Farooq Rather, was retrieved near Preng area in Ganderbal,” he said.
The rescue operation is still underway to trace the other boy.
