Gloom Descends Over South Kashmir Skies

Mourning and grief has gloomed the skies of South Kashmir as seventeen locals have been shot dead in the past two days during three separate gunfights that raged in South Kashmir areas.

People of the region are visiting the houses of slain youth in droves of dozens and hundreds amid intense pro independence and pro Militancy slogans to mourn the death of the seventeen people at their respective areas.

Women were also seen weeping the death of the militants, while a candle light vigil was organized in the Pushwara area of South Kashmir, The video of the event posted by the Facebook page of The Kashmiriyat has gone viral over the social networking.

Meanwhile the markets in the South Kashmir region are wearing a deserted look as hundreds of paramilitary men have been deployed across the region to thwart any kind of protest.

Educational institutes, Mobile Internet Services, Rail Services have been suspended by authorities as a preventive measure in wake of the seventeen killings in the region.

At least 80,000 people have been killed since last 1988 when an Armed insurgency challenging the Indian rule erupted in the region which remains divided between India and Pakistan.
