The President of Philippines Rodrigo Duterte has angered the Catholics in Philippines by calling god Stupid during his televised speech.
He also slammed the story of Adam and eve’s fall from grace and the logic behind the biblical concept of ‘original sin.’
Duterte also criticised the pope and many other biblical concepts in the past too. “You weren’t born yet, but now you have original sin… What kind of religion is that? I can’t accept it.”
The Office of the president clearly stated that the remarks had nothing to do with the office, but the statement reflected the beliefs of a person as they have evoked anger and criticism all over the country.
Duterte is an open critic of catholic church in Philippines where more than 90 per cent of the people are Christians and vast majority follows the Catholic Church.
