The commencement of destruction of 10 thousand houses has begun in Khori town arranged on the Aravalli hills in Faridabad, Haryana. Houses are being destroyed within the sight of hefty police power.
Only police officials and officers of divisions concerned are being permitted to visit the site. During this whole demonstration, section 144 has been forced in Khori town.
The local residents are continuously opposing this governmental action.
More than 100 protesters of Khori village also went to the Prime Minister’s office on Thursday. The protesters wanted to bring to the notice, the government’s repression that’ll make thousands of people homeless. But they were detained by the Police.
A local resident of Khori village while conversing with The Kashmiriyat said that he used to feed his family with the earning from his daily wage work. However, the lockdown due to covid, his work halted. Due to this, in order to take care of his family, he had to borrow money from some of his acquaintances, but now the public authority is removing the roof from the head of his family.
He also told The Kashmiriyat with tearful eyes that he had voted for the BJP government, he thought that Modi’s government would reduce unemployment and inflation, but the Modi government brought his family to the verge of death.
He informed us that first of all those houses which were built temporarily and in the upper part of the mountain are being demolished and after that, the houses below will be sabotaged.
What is the whole concern about?
A Supreme Court request to remove more than 10,000 families from Khori Gaon close to the Surajkund space of Faridabad, Haryana will influence more than one lakh individuals who have been living nearby for more than 40 years.
As per the Haryana Urban Development Authority in 2010, rehabilitation will be allowed distinctly to individuals dwelling in Khori since 2003.
Because of these approaches, a PIL was filed before the Punjab and Haryana High Court to expand restoration for all residents living nearby. In any case, notwithstanding a few hearings, the High Court denied any help as the matter was all the while forthcoming under the watchful eye of the Supreme court.
The populace in these families basically comprises laborers who have relocated from various states and have gotten comfortable in the region to have the option to look for some kind of employment in the Delhi NCR.
An atmosphere of fear was created among the people when in September last year, about two thousand houses of Khori village were demolished by the Haryana Municipal Corporation.
Ever since this process of demolition started, many social workers and agitators who spoke against it have been taken into custody by the Haryana Police without a warrant.
