The residents of Nagbal,Digam and Badrihama are up in arms against the authorities for neglecting the road stretch which connects these villages with district headquarter of Shopian.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that this road link was damaged in 2014 floods since then the road goes besides the Rambiara rivulet and till date the road was not repaired due to which locals are facing difficulties.
Aijaz Ahmed a local resident said that the transporters are refusing to ply on the road as it has turned bumpy and developed potholes.
He added that they knocked the doors of concerned authorities several times but they failed to keep their promises.
Road is in condition that every driver refuses to ply his vehicle on the road due to which looks are forced to carry goods on their backs from Shopian town, Ab Majeed another local resident told The Kashmiriyat.
It is Shame for the local leaders and District administration as this area is just two kilometers from district headquarter and they have failed to pay any attention toward the neighbouring area of town, how could they reach to far flung areas, locals said.
They added that there is famous temple in the area where thousands of devotees throng everywhere but due to official apathy they too are facing lot of difficulties.
Elders, students and patients are suffering mostly as they are forced to reach town by walking about 3 kms by foot.
The Locals while speaking to The Kashmiriyat once again appealed the concerned authorities to look into the matter and solve the issue at an earliest.
On contacting executive engineer roads and buildings district Shopian, Zahoor Ahmad, told The Kashmiriyat that he will see any provision for the development of this road.
“We are yet to receive the funds to repair the roads which got damaged with floods it has become a reason that most of the roads which got damaged in floods are yet to be repaired” he said.
