
As the Hajj 2024 pilgrimage draws to a close, five women from Kashmir have tragically died due to heat stroke while in Arafat and Muzdalifa, an official reported on Tuesday.
As per news report, extreme heat experienced during the pilgrimage has severely impacted the health of many pilgrims.
Five female pilgrims from Kashmir, four from Srinagar and one from Kulgam district, have died due to heat stroke in Arafat and Muzdalifa. We are awaiting the issuance of death certificates.
During the pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, temperatures soared to a blistering 48°C.
The deceased women were traveling with their relatives, and it has been confirmed that they will be buried in Makkah, the official added.
This year, over 7,000 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir embarked on the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina.
