Cherawad in Aishmuqam Facing Shortage of Drinking Water Since Many Years

Hamlet Cherawad Vail Nagbal in Aishmuqam area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) has been facing acute shortage of drinking water for the last few years.

The residents of the area staged a protest against the officials of PHE sub division Aishmuqam.

The residents of the area speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that the engineer and field staff promised many times that they will visit the area, however, no one has visited so far.

The Jal Shakti department claims that they will ensure drinking water facility to the people but the on-ground reality is far from the claims.

Women in the area have to travel many kilometers to fetch a few buckets of water.

The Residents have appealed to the deputy commissioner of Anantnag and Chief Engineer, PHE, Kashmir to completely re-shuffle the staff of PHE sub-division Aishmuqam.
