The family of the man from Shopian who allegedly died on Tuesday of cardiac arrest reached Press Enclave in Srinagar along with the dead body of a man who died during a land acquisition drive in Hermain village.

Speaking to the media here, the family of the deceased man alleged that the man did not die of cardiac arrest, but was assaulted by goons on the behest of civilian officials.

The family of the deceased arrived at Press Colony Srinagar along with the dead body of the man who had been identified as s Abdul Salam Thokar, a resident of Padderpora area in Shopian.
The family of Abdul Salam Thokar said that even after the death of the man, police did not file an FIR. “Over a dozen people arrived yesterday to occupy our land. He was manhandled by goons as a result he died,” the family said.
