
The Meteorological Department has predicted moderate rainfall in several parts of Kashmir and heavy to very heavy showers in Jammu division over the next two days.
Director MeT, Mukhtar Ahmad, said generally cloudy weather with light to moderate rain and thundershowers is expected at many places, while Reasi, Udhampur, Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Doda, and Rajouri may see heavy to very heavy rainfall, particularly at night and in the early morning until August 15.
Parts of Kashmir could experience moderate rain with brief intense showers and gusty winds. Hot and humid conditions are likely to persist on August 16, with the possibility of brief showers in some areas.
From August 17 to 19, light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are expected at many places, with heavy rain possible at a few spots in Jammu division during night and early morning hours.
The MeT advisory warned of flash floods in vulnerable areas, along with the risk of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones until August 15.
People have been advised to avoid water bodies, riverbanks, and unstable structures.
