Heavy Snowfall Disconnects Rural Areas, Admin Remains Active in Towns

While the district administration in Kashmir valley remained active in the towns and timely cleared off the snow in the towns and urban areas, the rural areas get disconnected from the major towns.

Sources informed The Kashmiriyat that the scenario was witnessed in all the areas of the Kashmir valley from up north to down South.

A patient from Gundinowzore area of Larkipora in Zaldoora area of Islamabad (Anantnag) in South Kashmir is stuck in snow as the roads leading to the district hospital have been blocked due to heavy snowfall.

“No snow clearance has been done in the remote areas of Kashmir valley,” Sources informed The Kashmiriyat.

Reports from Shopian said that snow clearance was carried out many times in the Shopian town, however majority of the areas in Shopian including areas in Zainapora belt, Sedow, Trenz remained cut off.

In Kulgam, the DH Pora belt, Redwani belt, Wokay belt remained disconnect as no snow clearance operation was carried out in the area.

In Pulwama, no snow was cleared off from the roads of Litter, Drubgam, Rajpora and various other areas.

In Islamabad (Anantnag) district, the kokernag, Shangus, Aishmuqam and Qazigund areas remained disconnected as the snow in the areas was not cleared.

Similarly in North Kashmir, Sopore town saw snow clearance machines frequently however many areas remained disconnected in North Kashmir.

In Sheeri Baramulla, a pregnant lady was carried to the hospital from a remote village, Numblan on shoulders by four youth.

Similarly in Central Kashmir, urban areas witnessed a healthy traffic as the administration got the snow cleared many times, however the rural areas were left off.
