High activity of Snowfall on 5th, Plains to Receive 2-3 inches of Snow- Sonam Lotus

The Meteorological department in Jammu Kashmir has predicted widespread snowfall from 4th to 6th December, 2021.

The first snow spell of this winter in Jammu Kashmir and adjoining area is most likely to occur from the 4th evening to 6th evening with the main activity on 5th, MeT director, Sonam Lotus said.

He said that snowfall will likely commence from late night of 4th increasing gradually in intensity and spatial distribution with peak on 5th.

“The plains of Kashmir will likely receive light (2-3 Inches) of snowfall whereas higher reaches >2000m of JK may receive moderate snowfall (upto 6-7 inches),” he said.

He further sajd that the higher reaches may receive heavy snow on 5th, adding, “Light to Moderate Rain is also likely at most places of Jammu region as well.”
