Higher Secondary in Anantnag area renamed, Admin sanctions renaming of 18 institutes in Jammu Kashmir

The Jammu Kashmir administration has sanctioned the renaming of 18 more places in Jammu Kashmir which includes the Higher Secondary in the Soaf Shali area of Anantnag.

The admin, as per an order accessed by The Kashmiriyat, has ordered the School Education Department to take immediate necessary steps including amending records for effecting the changes, and stated that the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir/Jammu shall personally monitor the naming of infrastructure assets in their respective divisions.

Deputy Commissioner(s) shall ensure that suitable events are held in connection with the naming of these infrastructure assets, the order read.

The Jammu Kashmir administration as per a directive started renaming the Government institutes/public places to the name of the troopers who died in the line of duty and to those of “eminent personalities.”

According to the latest direction, Government Higher Secondary School Soaf Shali, Anantnag has been renamed after Sarwanand Kaul Premi.

The Government Middle School in Chandanwari Pahalgam has been renamed after Armyman Mohammed Safeer Khan.

The Government Middle school in Wanpora area of Gurez has been renamed after deceased Policeman Reyaz Ahmad Lone.

Government Middle school has been renamed after Para Trooper Shabir Ahmad Malik.

Boys middle school has been renamed after deceased Army trooper Abdul Hameed Chara, as per the order.

UPS Kundlayan after HC Abdul Rashid Kalas, GMS Banday Handwara after army trooper Ghulam Mustafa Barah, UPS Kashmiri Manigah after HC Sheraz Ahmad, Govt. Middle School (Boys) after Const. Rajinder Kumar, Govt. Boys Middle Jaganoo after Const. Raj Kumar, Govt. Girls Middle Muthlal, Alanbass after Ct Naseeb Singh No. 626/AP 5th Bn, Govt. Middle School Bagga (Jamslan) after SPO Jalal Din.

As per the order, the other institutes whose name has been changed include Middle School, Panchayat Loorkote, PS Patti, and Govt. Girls Middle School Kheri.
