Hindu Right-wing group threatens agitation if Madrasas are not banned in India

Pramod Muthalik, The founder and Chief of Sri Ram Sene, a Hindu right-wing group has demanded a ban on madrassas throughout India.

Pramod Muthalik alleged that the Madrasas do not follow any rules an regulations and do not “sing the national anthem” despite grants being provided by the government.

“‘Hindu taxpayers’ money is being wasted on madrasa education in the country,” he added.

He further said that his organisation will soon launch a campaign against madrassas if the Government does not ban them. “If the state (Karnataka) and the central government do not heed our demand for the ban, then Sri Ram Sene will start an active campaign against the madrassas,” he said.

Earlier Muthalik had called for “bulldozing” or demolition of “illegally constructed churches” in Karanataka.
