Hindus, Sikhs Hold Protest in Srinagar Against Attacks on Kashmiris in India

Members of various minority communities and non Kashmiri labourers staged a demonstration in Srinagar on Wednesday to protest the attacks on Kashmiris in various indian states.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the members of the minority community demanded that the intimidation of Kashmiris be stopped.

Demanding action against the perpetrators of violence, They said that such attacks would only alienate Kashmiris from India.

‘We have never been harassed in Kashmir, not even after hundreds of Kashmiris were mercilessly beaten up outside, these attackers must learn lessons of love from Kashmiri people,” a Sikh protester told The Kashmiriyat.

Attacks on Kashmiris escalated in various Indian states after a Militant attack in Pulwama, in which 45 CRPF men were killed.

Post the attack, Kashmiris students were harassed and at many places asked to leave the place immediately.

Kashmiri traders were also asked to wind up their businesses, many were put behind bars for their alleged ‘objectionable posts’ on social media.

They said such attacks would only alienate Kashmiris from India and the situation needs to be dealt with logic, more than emotions.
Condemning the brutality, they demanded an action against those who are involved in these heinous crimes against any human.
They said they are feeling safe in Kashmir, and have never been harassed by any local.
