The Jammu Kashmir Police in Shopian District seized a huge quantity of poppy straw (Fukki) in Imam Shaib area of South Kashmir’s Shopian District.
The Police said that during a Naka checking at Manihal Imamsahib, a Police party of Police post Imamsahib intercepted a truck bearing Reg no .JK03B 7911.
On being intercepted, the driver of the said truck jumped from the truck and fled from spot. On checking the said truck, a huge quantity of Poppy straw like material, packed in Nylon bags was recovered, which on weighing was found 92 kgs.
A case FIR No 275/2018 u/s 8,15,18 NDPS stands registered at P/S shopian and investigation taken up and a manhunt to nab the accused has been launched.
