Hurriyat Calls for Shutdown on Thursday

October 17

The Hurriyat leadership has called for a shutdown on Thursday against the alleged atrocities, including gruesome killings, arbitrary arrests, destruction of homes and harassment of students and attack on journalists by the government forces.

In a statement issued here this afternoon, JRL said that the state “repression” against people was increasing with each passing day as it gets manifest in different forms of “atrocities being committed”.

It alleged that Universities and colleges were being forcibly closed to disallow students from raising their voice against daily “killings and atrocities”.
