Husband, Wife Injured during Encounter in Islamabad

A lady and her husband were injured aft3e being hit with bullets near encounter site in Sirigufwara Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) District.

Locals told The Kashmiriyat that they were hit by bullets during the initial exchange if gunfire.

They both were shifted to District hospital in Islamabad from where they have been referred to Srinagar for treatment, hospital officials told The Kashmiriyat.

Hospital officials identified them as Rafiqa Banoo who has sustained a Hand injury and Mohammed Yusuf Rather who has sustained a leg injury.

The operation meanwhile in Sirigufwara is on and is being jointly conducted by 3RR of Indian Army, 96 BN of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police.

Clashes are also on at the encounter site as four Militants are believed to be trapped at the encounter site.

Internet services have been suspended across the District.
