
Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a hybrid militant in Awantipora area of Pulwama district.
Police in a statement to Kashmir News Apex- (KNA) said that Police alongwith security forces have arrested a hybrid terrorist of proscribed terrorist outfit LeT in Awantipora and recovered incriminating materials including ammunition from his possession.
Police alongwith security forces during naka checking at Ladoo Awantipora arrested a hybrid terrorist linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT and recovered incriminating materials including a Grenade from his possession. He has been identified as Abid Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Aziz Sheikh resident of Satpokharen, police said.
During preliminary investigation, it came to fore that the arrested hybrid terrorist was in close touch with LeT Commanders and was involved in transportation of arms & ammunition, police added.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 69/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Khrew and further investigation has been taken up, police said. (KNA
