Iconic week festival celebrated at Alamdar Nursing College Charari Sharief

Under the banner of the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Iconic week festival on Sheikh ul Aalam ‘RA’ was celebrated at Alamdar Nursing College Charari Sharief here on Sunday.

Patrons of the program were Prof Mehmooda Regu and Mr Tabashir Bashir. Prof A. H Moon, Dean Academic Affairs IUST was the chief guest on the occasion.

The program was lightened by various scholars and experts on Sheikh ul Aalam Studies including, Prof H. Naik special guest, Prof Hameed Naseem Rafiabadi, Mr GN Adfar, expert and researcher of Sheikh ul Aalam Studies and Mr Aijaz Ashraf, Regional director (MANU).

On the occasion, Prof Moon said, “You have to be the ambassadors of Sheikh ul Aalam, a big responsibility for you people to carry his mission and serve people.”

“It is a great tribute to this Saint that we’re organising such a programme here in the land of the famous saint.
Women were caring for the patients, from the battlefields. This way of nursing has come a long way like from ancestry, the students and locals are fortunate enough to have a Nursing College under the name of Shiekh ul Aalam.
Sheikh ul Aalam has given the best knowledge in the name of Islam and social reformation among us. We’re keen to forward his studies further and it’s indeed our responsibility,” Prof Hameed Naseem Rafiaabadi said.

We need the scholars inside society who can carry the mission of saint Sheikh ul Aalam. The contribution of Sheikh ul Aalam shall be reminded and rewarded for centuries. In today’s world it has been a myth to paste a tag on female education but Sheikh ul Aalam gave himself education to female students popularly known as “Tchaati Korii”.

Let’s appreciate the work and proceed with the teachings of Sheikh ul Aalam to live a better society. Sheikh ul Aalam gave the message of the Quran throughout life. He was inspired by Quran and became the author of the Kashmiri Quran by famous couplets to make locals understand it well,” GN Adfar Said.

Deputy registrar of the IUST scattered the light of legacy that, “This college is having a legacy of Sheikh ul Aalam, tomorrow when they will become the ambassadors of this college. It should be involved in our existence. It will be best for them to contribute to society. We should behave like students and perform our best to serve the community. This profession is having a calibre of 100% placements across the valley. Let’s work hard and be humans.”

“Sheikh ul Aalam made an edifice of education in the valley and this mission will remain till doomsday. The origin of these things in Kashmir is Sheikh ul Aalam. And we should respect and work on such projects,” he added.

The teachings of Sheikh ul Aalam were highlighted by the guests throughout the programme. During the programme students of the college participated in speech, calligraphy and poetry competitions which made the program more interesting.

Prize distribution of the winners of the said competition was done by guests. Speech competition, in which
Arjuman Tajjala, Abida and Sofi Sadaf got first second third positions respectively. And in the Calligraphy competition Humaira Javed, Zubair Yaqoob, and Quratul ain came first, second and third respectively.

In last a poetry section was also conducted in which, Layak Bashir, Abrar Ali and Zeenat Bashir got first, second and third respectively.

Certificate distribution among students was also done at the end of the occasion.
