In solidarity with Palestine, Yemen’s Houthis declare war on Israel

Yemen’s Houthi spokesperson, Yahya Sarea, announced on October 31 that they have declared war on Israel.

They launched a significant number of ballistic missiles, winged missiles, and drones targeting various locations.

Sarea described these attacks as a show of support for Palestinians in Gaza, who are facing perceived aggression from the United States and Israel.

This move is seen in the context of the perceived weakness of some Arab regimes and their alleged collaboration with Israel.

In response to Israel’s actions in Gaza, Sarea stated that their armed forces launched numerous missiles and drones at Israeli targets in occupied territories.

Israeli media reported that their fighter jets successfully intercepted incoming drones, and the Arrow air defense system intercepted a ballistic missile launched from the Red Sea area.

This development effectively brings Yemen’s Houthi movement into the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel.

The Houthi movement is supported by Iran as part of an alliance against what they view as American and Israeli aggression.

It’s worth noting that the Houthi movement took power in Yemen about nine years ago.

Yemen’s official entry into the Hamas-Israel conflict follows Iran’s warning to Israel about its continued actions in Gaza.
