The Jammu Kashmir admin Saturday placed the Municipal council Magam Executive officer under suspension over the alleged disrepect to Indian tricolour.
Earlier an image had gone viral which showed Indian flags being carried in a trash vehicle in Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An official from Budgam’s Municipal council confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that the official has been placed under suspension by the Sub Divisional Magistrate in Beerwah Budgam.
The incident allegedly took place on Saturday afternoon, when the employees of the Municipal Committee Budgam were hosting flags in the main town of Magam in Budgam.
“Pending enquiry into the matter, Shri Syed Aijaz Manzoor, Executive Officer, MC Magam, is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect”, the order of SDM Beerwah reads.
“Tehsildar Magam is nominated as the enquiry officer in the matter who shall furnish a detailed report within three (03) days along with particulars of all other officials/non-officials involved in the incident”, the order reads further.
