Intense Clashes have erupted in Sirigufwara area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) District.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that thousands of civilians including men and women have hit the streets trying to give a chance to trapped militants to escape.
Shouting Pro Freedom and Pro Militants slogans, people have hit the streets throwing stones on Government Forces, they said.
Adding that pro Freedom Taranas are being played throughout mosques in the area.
The forces fired tear smoke shells, pellets and Pava shells to unsuccessfully disperse the protesters.
Meanwhile a heavy exchange of gunfire is going on at the encounter site where four militants are believed to be trapped, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.
Internet services have also been suspended in the District.
A lady was also injured in the initial exchange of fire.
