Intense Clashes have erupted at the Islamic University of science and technology (IUST) in south Kashmir’s Awantipora against the killing of three militants in an encounter in Srinagar.
A Student told The Kashmiriyat that dozens of students early morning on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against the killing of three militants in an encounter in Srinagar’s Fateh Kadal area.
He said that students assembled in the university ground Chanting pro independence and Pro Militancy slogans and tried to march near the National Highway, However, the government forces intercepted them and resorted to baton charge and fired tear gas shells to disperse them.
The Students in retaliation threw stones, resulting in intense clashes.
The clashes were going on when this report was filed.
