Intense clashes have erupted in Dalpora area of Main town in South Kashmir’s Pulwama District on Sunday after slain Militant Zahoor Ahmed Thokar was laid to rest at his native in Sirnoo.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth hit the streets of Dalpora after Hizb commander, Zahoor Ahmed Thokar was laid to rest on Sunday noon at Sirnoo in South Kashmir’s Pulwama District.
Shouting Pro Independence and Anti India Slogans, the youth tried to march towards the main town of Pulwama, however the forces deployed in the main town Pulwama fired tear smoke shells and pellets at the youth, triggering clashes.
Zahoor Ahmed Thokar who was killed in an encounter in Sirnoo area along with two accomplices was not buried after people insisted that the corpse of the slain Militant be not buried immediately.
Thousands of people today gathered at Sirnoo to get a last glimpse of the slain Militant who was a former Army man and had decamped with a Service rifle in 2017.
