All succumbed to their injuries following the intense shelling that occurred during the night.
The injured include a wide range of civilians from different areas of the district. Medical authorities confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that none of the patients have been referred to hospitals outside the district so far.
However, the condition of several remains critical, and medical care is being provided at multiple local health facilities.
Officials say the full extent of damage is still being assessed, and an investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding the shelling.
The incident came hours after India carried out Operation Sindoor, a series of precision strikes targeting nine terror sites across Pakistan
The strikes were conducted in response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, including one Nepali citizen.
Authorities have stated that Operation Sindoor was carefully calibrated to avoid escalation, and no Pakistani military sites were targeted.
The latest shelling in Poonch has added to tensions in the border region, with local residents expressing fear and uncertainty.
Officials have urged the public to remain calm and follow advisories as the situation continues to develop.
