International Women’s Day Observed in Kulgam

International Women’s Day was celebrated at Degree College Kulgam wherein 100 students attended the event.

Secretary DLSA Kulgam, Mehreen Mushtaq was the chief guest of the event & other officials of National Commission for Women.

She brought out outstanding achievements of women of Kashmir and motivated young girls to draw inspiration from them and to chase their dreams.

Mehreen Mushtaq DLSA Secretary said that each day is a women’s day because women are working round the clock whether at home or workplace, like one woman lawyers, which shows dedication in their daily routine work. She said that if every Muslim woman chooses the path of Hazrat Khatija (RA) and Hazrat Fatima (RA) then there will be no need to celebrate international women’s day.

In her inaugural speech, Mehran Mushtaq DLSA Secretary laid emphasis on imbibing the virtues of equality in our day-to-day life. She threw some light on the condition of women in the pre-Islamic world and how the religion of Islam came as a saviour for women and ensured their socio-economic upliftment.
