Internet and mobile services remained unaffected in Jammu Kashmir on Independence Day which is being celebrated in the Valley, officials said Sunday.
“There is neither internet shutdown nor #restrictions on the eve of the #IndependenceDay,” Inspector General of Police (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar said in a tweet.
Mobile and internet services used to be snapped on Independence Day and Republic Day as part of the security measures across the Kashmir valley.
Meanwhile the DG of Jammu Kashmir Police Dilbag Singh has greeted the people of Jammu Kashmir on the independence day.
In a tweet by Jammu Kashmir Police, the DGp was quoted as saying, ” DGP J&K Sh Dilbag Singh has greeted the people of J&K,families of martyrs, Police and other Security forces personnel,their families on the eve of the Independence Day.He has said that the Independence Day is not only an occasion to celebrate the freedom from foreign rule, but also a day to remember our martyrs who have given supreme sacrifice for nation.”
The DGP in his message has impressed upon the officers & personnel to rededicate them selves for the integrity & sovereignty of the nation & continue their work against terrorism and crimes.
