Internet services have been snapped in various areas of Pulwama and Shopian district in South Kashmir after an encounter raged in Pulwama’s Naina area early on Thursday morning.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat locals said that internet services have been snapped in the Litter belt of Pulwama and Zainapora area of Shopian.
An encounter raged in the Naina area of Pulwama’s Litter belt after militants opened fire upon Government forces who had launched a cordon and search operation in the area following an input about militant presence in the area.
During the exchange of gunfire, one militant has been killed so far, Police said.
Meanwhile, sporadic clashes have erupted between protesters and forces in the area.
Two militants are believed to be trapped in the area. “An intense exchange of gunfire is going on between the forces and militants,” locals said.
