Iqbal Colony Dooru Reels Under Darkness Since 3 Weeks Now

Residents stages protest against PDD, blocked the road for hours

Residents of Iqbal Colony, Dooru area of Anantnag district are reeling under darkness for 3 weeks due to damage to transformer feeding the colony

Residents, today, staged a protest against the power development department and blocked the road.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat they alleged that the electric transformer had developed constant snags due to which the locals are suffering immensely.

Three weeks on, the transformer is yet to be repaired. “In the absence of power we face immense problems. We were assured by authorities many times that the problem will be solved but nothing was done. We took to the road due to the negligence of the department and their failure in providing us electricity,” they told The Kashmiriyat.

Meanwhile, Station Officer Dooru, along with his team reached on spot and assured that they will forward the genuine demand made by the residents to the authorities for immediate redressal.
