The Mutton Wholesale Dealers Association has appealed to the Jammu Kashmir administration to notify sales points for selling sacrificial animals for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha in Kashmir Valley.
The Association has also appealed to ensure hassle free movement of trucks laden with sacrificial animals on the Srinagar-Jammu highway.
Authorities usually identify the sales points at Eidgah, Shalteng , Bypass Nowgam and Buchpora but so far no sales points for sacrificial animals have been identified and announced.
The upcoming Eid will be celebrated on June 29th.
Meanwhile, an official from the department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) appealed to the dealers to sell their stock at fixed prices.
The official said that if anybody goes against the fixed rates, action will be taken against them for violation of orders.
“To keep a check on the market, we will depute an additional team that will look into this and will be visible in the city and will also seek help from the revenue department and police.” The official said.
The official further added that sales points for sacrificial animals will be declared shortly. [KNT]
