
Amid tightened security arrangements across the Kashmir valley, internet services have been snapped on the eve of January 26.
Around 12 midnight on Wednesday, the authorities snapped internet services in most parts of the Kashmir valley, which is a routine exercise on 26 January, Residents said.
Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that Policemen, paramilitary personnel are deployed across the valley as a part of security arrangements for January 26.
“From last one week, J&K police along with CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces) and the army is dominating the area. Frisking and checking is going on,” Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar told reports on Tuesday.
“Surveillance is done through drones. Complete security arrangements have been made,” he said, adding, “The function will be conducted peacefully.”
Not only public transport, scooter riders and private vehicles were also randomly stopped and checked for any subversive element to ensure that the ensuing official functions on Wednesday pass off peacefully and incident-free.
