The Jammu Kashmir administration Monday ordered the removal of Sheikh Abdullah’s inscription on Police medals and ordered its replacement with an Indian emblem.
In an order, accessed by The Kashmiriyat the Manoj Sinha-led administration ordered that in modification to the Para 4 of the Jammu Kashmir Police Medal Scheme.
“The Sheri-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah embossed on one side of the medal shat be replaced with ‘The National Emblem of Government of India’ and the other side inscribed oath the J&K State Emblem shall be inscribed as ‘Jammu and Kashmir Police Medal for Gallantry- and Jammu and Kashmir Police Medal for Meritorious Service’ in case of Gallantry/Meritorious Medal, as the case may be,” the order reads.
Pertinently, after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35 A on August 05, 2019, the local laws were replaced by the central laws,Admin and the Jammu Kashmir-based Ranbir Penal code was declared “null and Void”.
