A day after LG Manoj Sinha’s order, Jammu Kashmir Police have launched dedicated helplines and assistance cells across several districts to support victims with dignity and timely redressal.
In Sopore, a Terror Victims Assistance Cell has been established at the District Police Headquarters to provide comprehensive support to individuals and families who have either lost loved ones or suffered property damage due to terrorist violence.
The Sopore Police have made available two helpline numbers—9596773073 and 01954-222313—which will remain functional from 10 AM to 6 PM on all working days.
In Budgam, police have set up a dedicated grievance cell and helpline at the District Police Office. The helpline number—9541902668—is also operational from Monday to Saturday between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Officials said the facility will act as a key contact point for families of terror victims to seek assistance, register complaints, and access support mechanisms.
In south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, a similar helpline has been put in place to support victims of terrorism-related incidents.
Police confirmed that the helpline is active and available to help individuals and their families register grievances and seek official support.
These measures come a day after Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha instructed civil and police authorities to reopen thousands of terror-related cases that were “deliberately buried” over the last thirty years.
He also directed that employment opportunities be extended to the next of kin of victims on a priority basis.
