Seven Kashmiri students were among those against whom the Delhi Police has submitted a charge sheet in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) sedition case at the Patiala House Courts.
The JNU Sedition row case pertains to raising of “freedom for Kashmir” and “anti-India” slogans at an event on the campus against the hanging of Afzal Guru.
In the charge sheet, the police also named 36 students, including student Kanhaiya Kumar, Syed Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya.
The Kashmiris booked in the sedition row include students of Universities in Delhi (at the time of registration of the case) and a freelance writer are among the seven Kashmiris named in the charge sheet.
Basharat Ali (29) was pursuing a PhD at Jamia Millia Islamia. He was spotted in a video raising slogans with his face covered.
Rayees Rasool (30) from Islamabad (anantnag), Aquib (25) from Pulwama, Umair Gul (29) also from Islamabad (anantnag), Khalid Bashir Bhat (23) from Sopore, Mujeeb Gatoo (29) from Islamabad (Anantnag).
