
John Biden, the presidential nominee and former vice president of the United States has said that he wants New Delhi to take necessary measures to restore rights of all Kashmiris.
He has also has expressed dissatisfaction over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act as well as the implementation of the National Register of Citizens, which evoked massive resistance from people in India.
“Such measures are inconsistent with the country’s long tradition of secularism and with sustaining a multi-ethnic and multi-religious democracy,” according to the policy paper — ‘Joe Biden’s agenda for Muslim American community’ posted recently on his campaign website.
A group of Hindu Americans from India expressing their anger reached out to the Biden campaign and asked Biden to change his words against India, also urging him to reconsider their views.
