BJP MP Kangana Ranaut on Thursday said she removed a social media post criticizing former US President Donald Trump after being asked to do so by BJP national president JP Nadda.
In the now-deleted post on X, Ranaut had speculated that Trump was uneasy about Apple shifting its manufacturing to India, attributing it to what she called his “personal jealousy” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
She later expressed regret for airing her personal opinion on the matter.
The post was made in response to Trump’s recent comments regarding Apple’s expansion in India. Ranaut had drawn comparisons between Trump and Modi, suggesting that Trump’s remarks stemmed from insecurity.
Speaking about the deletion, Ranaut confirmed that Nadda personally reached out to her and requested the post be taken down.
