Karnataka Muslim youth dies after being attacked by Bajrang Dal men

A teenager died a day after he was attacked by eight members of the Hindutva group Bajrang Dal in Karnataka’s Bellare district.

As per a news report, 18-year-old Masood had gotten into a fight with one of the accused Sudhir on July 19. Masood had returned home after the fight ended.

His friend Ibrahim Shanif was quoted by The Cognate as saying that two of the accused, Sunil and Abhilash, called him and said that Sudhir was attacked by Masood. They called the duo to Vishnunagara on the pretext of resolving the matter.

Shanif and Masood went to Vishnunagar at around 10 PM on July 20. At the site, all the eight accused beat Masood. One of them also hit him with a soda bottle.

The accused identified as Sunil, Sudhir, Shiva, Sadhashiv, Ranjith, Gym Ranjith and Bhaskar, all associated with Bajrang Dal have been arrested.
