The vehicular movement on the highway connecting Jammu with Srinagar has been temporarily suspended due to fresh snowfall at various places including the Jawahar tunnel.
Officials told The Kashmiriyat that the traffic on the highway has been suspended as a precautionary measure due to fresh snowfall on both sides of the Banihal Shaitan Nalah and Jawahar tunnel.
“The area has recorded several inches of snowfall since Thursday night and we have ordered clearance of the highway however vehicular movement has been suspended on both sides as of now,” the traffic official said.
He said it is likely to take a few hours to restore traffic.
