On Thursday, the Chairperson Waqf Board sought suggestions from the public regarding the formation of J-K Ruet-e-hilal committee.
The statement came a day after a confusion prevailed over moon sighting in Jammu Kashmir when late night announcements were made in Kashmir to observe Ramadhan on Thursday. However, several Ulema of Kashmir had declared that Ramadhan will start from Friday.
Darakshan Andrabi said that Ramadan-specific preparations have been made at Dargah Hazratbal to ensure that devotees won’t experience any difficulties due to rain or extreme heat.
She announced that live broadcasts of the Taraveeh prayers from the Hazratbal shrine will begin today.
