Scores of Gurmut Taksal (IGS) activists along with other social activists from Kashmir staged a peaceful candlelight protest in Srinagar on Sunday evening seeking a rollback of the three new farm bills passed by the Indian parliament in September this year.
The members of the organization holding placards that read: “No farmer, no food”, “we stand with farmers”, “Punjab resist against black laws” and “down with BJP ”, “Kashmir stands with Farmers” “Modi shah Hosh Mai Aao”.
Malkit Singh Babbar, President Gurmat Taksal IGS social Religious Activist, said, “Farmers are sitting at Delhi border from last 14 days, but Government of India is not taking them seriously, which is very shameful farmers feed us but our genuine demands are being put into the back burner. “
Another Activist and protester Angad Singh, Khalsa told the Kashmiriyat the farmers are backbone of any nation and it is sad that the Government is not paying ear to their genuine pleas.
