
The Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Taekwondo Union emerged triumphant at the 6th National Taekwondo Championship in Odisha, which took place on December 30th and 31st, 2023.
Distinguished by exceptional skill and unwavering determination, the union’s participants secured an impressive total of 19 medals, with a breakdown of 9 gold, 6 silver, and 4 bronze.
Among the gold medalists are Numair Shabir, Rabia Tariq, Syed Arsh, Mehvish Shaban, Rutba Manzoor, Umi Farwah, Ifra Zehra, Adeeba Arfat, and Darafshan. Silver medals were claimed by Faizan, Safoora Wahid, Aliya Azmat, Kartik Koul, Mutahar, and Umi Hani.
The bronze medals went to Adnan Gulzar, Musa, Shahzaib, and Arslaan Azmat.
Dawood Sofi, the General Secretary of the J&K Taekwondo Union, expressed immense pride in the athletes’ achievements. He conveyed gratitude to the Indian Taekwondo Union for their steadfast support in facilitating the participation of these exceptional talents.
