A 21-year-old woman died after a wooden log from a rooftop fell upon her in the Batengoo area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday afternoon Meenu Jan wife of Arshid Ahmed, a resident of Batengoo was injured critically after a wooden log fell upom her during gusty winds in the south Kashmir region.
Meenu Jan was rushed to the hospital, where she was declared brought dead by the doctors.
Dr. Tariq Qureshi, the principal of Government Medical college confirmed the death of Meenu Jan to The Kashmiriyat.
Earlier a 25-year-old woman, Shakeela Bano, a resident of Lar Ganderbal sustained injuries after strong winds damaged the rooftop of a Sufi Khanqah in the area.
Pertinently a windstorm on Monday afternoon caused havoc in the Kashmir valley. Property worth lakhs has been damaged.
