One Kashmiri pilgrim died yesterday evening while on a pilgrimage in Karbala in Iraq.
The deceased has been identified as Syed Muhammad Shafi Rizvi of the Bota Kadal area of the Srinagar district.
A family member told The Kashmiriyat that Shafi had been sick before he left for the holy pilgrimage to Karbala. “We insisted that he should not go with such health, but he refused to stop and went ahead to perform the pilgrimage,” he said.
“We received a call yesterday stating that he had passed away at Karbala,” the family member said.
