Sajad Noorabadi, a political activist from Danew Kandimarg area of Noorabad in Kulgam district of volatile South Kashmir will fight against Modi in the upcoming General elections in India.
Noorabadi said he will challenge the Indian Prime Minister in Varanasi, which is one of the favourite turf of Narendra Modi, and said, “It is not going to be a fight, not even a tough fight, i will defeat Modi on his turf in Varanasi,” he said while speaking to The Kashmiriyat.
Being provided a ticked by Mayawati’s BSP which will go to polls with Mulayam Singh Yadav’s SP, Sajad Noorabadi spoke to The Kashmiriyat and said that Indian Prime Minister Modi has created chaos in Kashmir and due to his policies Kashmir has been on the edge.
“The steps of Narendra Modi are such disastrous that if the people of India are told, they will never vote for him again, i am going there and i will raise against this misinformation and tell them, Policy of flexing muscles on Kashmiris has alienated a common Kashmiri from India,” Sajad Noorabadi told The Kashmiriyat.
Sajad Noorabadi, who has been actively engaged in Social campaigns in the Kashmir valley said that there is an urgent need for misinformation to stop, “Stone pelting and Militant incidents have not stopped after Modi rose to power, but the fact is stone pelting at encounter sites has started and killing increased manifolds after Modi rose to power in 2014.”
Though, he has not been declared as the official candidate by the party, however there are major speculations in political and journalistic circles across Jammu Kashmir that Sajad will stand against Modi for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. “Yes, it is possible, but you have to wait for official announcement,” Sajad Noorabadi told The Kashmiriyat.
The BJP parliamentary board, as per NDTV, is in favour of a PM Modi contesting the parliamentary seat from Varanasi, In 2014, Modi contested from Varanasi and Vadodara in Gujarat. After winning both, he decided to retain the holy city in Uttar Pradesh.
Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, which is believed to be the Ground Zero of Indian elections will go Polls on May 19, in the last round of seven-phase polls that start on April 11.
The results will be declared on May 23.
