
Around a hundred Kashmiri Pandit employees have voluntarily tendered resignations on Friday demanding security in the aftermath of the killing of Rahul Bhatt, a Government employee who was shot dead by suspected militants in Budgam district of central Kashmir.
In a resignation letter written to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu Kashmir, which was accessed by The Kashmiriyat around 100 Government employees rehabilitated under a special package for Kashmiri Pandits brought by PM Manmohan Singh, have said they are resigning from various Government departments in Jammu Kashmir.
“Sir, as you know that the minorities of Kashmir are being killed every second day when they are performing their duties. So under such circumstances, we do not fel safe in the valley. So kindly accept our mass resignation,” read the letter.
