Kashmiri Student arrested in MP over Whatsapp Status booked under Sedition

A Kashmiri student studying in Madhya Pradesh who was arrested by police for posting an objectionable status on Whatsapp on the eve of the third anniversary of the Pulwama attack (14 February) has been booked under sedition.

Nasir Khuehami, spokesperson of Kashmir students Association providing the update on his Twitter wrote, “Kashmiri student who was arrested after his controversial posts on social media pertaining to the Pulwama Terror Attack in 2019 came to light, has been booked under Sedition with U/S Indian Penal Code Sections 124A (sedition), 153A & 505.”

Tufail Maqbool who is a student of B.com Ist year at Swami Vivekanand Govt college Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh had posted an objectionable video on his what-app status regarding Lethpora attack.

Quoting College Principal Spokesperson of J&K students association Nasir Khuehami had said that the student posted a video of the slain Jawans of Pulwama attack on social media and wrote: “it as Babri’s revenge”.

He said that an FIR in this regard has been registered and further investigation has been taken up.
