A Kashmiri student was found dead at a college hostel in the Kolkatta.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, a fellow student said that Mohammed Umar Ganie, a resident of Khansahab area in Budgam who was pursuing B.Tech in BBIT college in Kolkatta was found unconscious in his college hostel room after which he was rushed to the nearby hospital on Friday morning.
Umar son of Bashir Ahmed Ganie was rushed to the nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors. The cause of death is not known yet.
“His family members have left for Kolkatta to ascertain the cause of death,” the student said.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat said that the state Police will cooperate with the family of the deceased student. “An enquiry has been launched into the matter and the details of the incident shall be shared in the public domain soon,” he said.
He expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri family and said that the cause of the death shall be shared in the public domain soon.
